CLOCK

CLOCK

CLOCK is a collaboration between the public, private and third sector which trains University Law Students in the unique role of the Community Legal Companion to signpost, assist, monitor and promote access to justice through the clock.uk.net portal

CLOCK (the Community Legal Outreach Collaboration Keele) is based on transformative methodology to assist access to justice.

The clock.uk.net portal provides direct access for the general public to make requests for assistance which are allocated by postcode to the University Law School.

The University Law Schools of Keele, Sussex, Brighton, Canterbury, Leicester, Oxford Brookes, Liverpool John Moores, Wolverhampton, York and York St Johns allocate the cases to their trained Community Legal Companions who call the litigant in person to identify the need, potential indicators for legal aid and the type of hearing and signpost through the electronic portal to the respective CLOCK partners or, if there is no resource available, assist within the remit of the McKenzie Friend.

CLOCK is a goodwill project which is not externally funded, but sustained by the collaboration of services giving their time for access to justice. The portal enables requests for assistance to be signposted to law firms (for legal aid, affordable fixed fee and probono services) and charities in your area. If you would like to sign up to be able to increase resources for litigants in person to access your service, please see clock.uk.net/Pages/Participants
